A tasting of the final blend in barrel; very dark in colour. This is deep, wild and introverted; full-bodied and fully ripe with velvet tannins. It’s powerful, driving and focussed, with great length and impressive freshness. The palate is a reduction of blueberries, blackberries and damsons, with well-balanced acidity. It’s massive, very fresh, with slightly raised alcohol perhaps, but otherwise very good and concentrated. Some vines in the mix are more than 100 years old.
