2022 Mâcon-Pierreclos, Maison Verget

Vinification: A sixty-year-old vineyard with a clay-limestone soil and a southern exposure. The wine is fully aged in older oak barrels.

Tasting notes: This Mâcon-Pierreclos is beautifully fresh and lean, with notes of citrus fruit and white flowers. The complete aging in cuve keeps the wine lively with great fruit intensity and tension.

Serving advice: From now until 2030, 10-12°C

Wine and food pairing: Pan-fried sole fillet with gnocchi and mushroom cream sauce.

2022 Saumur-Champigny Terres Chaudes, Domaine des Roches Neuves

Vinification: Cabernet Franc from the famous ‘Les Poyeux’ vineyard. Aged for twelve months in older barrels.

Tasting notes: The grapes for this wine come from the warmest vineyards, resulting in a full, ripe expression of Cabernet Franc with warm fruit, sweet spices, and pencil-shavings-like tannins. Refined acidity keeps the wine perfectly balanced and adds an exciting edge.

Serving advice: From now until 2032+, 15-17°C.

Wine and food pairing: This wine pairs beautifully with roasted meats like lamb or beef, especially with savory sides like grilled vegetables or a rich mushroom sauce.

 

2021 Margaux, Château Piche Leibre

Vinification: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from a clay-rich soil with a gravel top layer, providing sufficient water and perfect ripening. Aged in new oak barrels for 18 months.

Tasting notes: Powerful with a beautiful ripe structure, dark cherries, and spices. The tannins have a superb round texture, very fine and well-integrated with generous fruit. A balanced wine with freshness, great class, and a juicy, long finish.

Serving advice: From 2026 to 2042, 16-18°C.

Wine and food pairing: This wine pairs excellently with roasted red meats, such as beef or lamb.
